Lillian's Space .. Poetry

alt

So this year we have a wonderful Yr 11 Student called Lillian and she's going to be writing a few things for us over the next coming months.

This month she shares a poem written especially for us, with a focus on friendship.

I ask questions of this.
This; that the world knew to connect us,
With heart strings and head strings,
Woven like wool over the cobbled streets we unknowingly passed each other on.
Stuck; in childhood daydreams under a perpetually blue sky.
Sometimes, you take me back, to those candy-floss clouds, pinky-promise, daisy-chain days when the world was our windowsill, and the closest we got to 'reaching the sky' was with outstretched arms on each other's shoulders.
Because sometimes I remember, that the world knew to connect us,
With heart strings and head strings,
Woven like wool over the cobbled streets we knowingly walk together.
