Meet Isabelle

Hello! I’m Isabelle, the new Admin Assistant here at Phase! I’m an American ex-pat but have lived in the UK long enough to know how to speak properly; I say ‘rubbish’ instead of ‘trash’, ‘pavement’ instead of ‘sidewalk’ and while I may occasionally slip ‘y’all’ into conversation, I make up for it by knowing to ask ‘what colour’ when making a cup of tea.

I’m originally from Oregon, and other than my family, the thing I miss the most are the majestic mountains I grew up surrounded by - though your Lake District isn’t so bad.

I did the ‘London thing’ for four years, and then moved to Hertfordshire in October of 2020. Other than a fairly rocky start due to that-which-shall-not-be-named, I’ve managed to settle in and I have an incredible group of friends that I call family. I also have a dog the size of a small bear who brings as much comfort as he does mayhem.

I am thrilled to be joining the team at Phase and have found fellow spread-sheet and coffee enthusiasts in my colleagues. Jokes aside, being part of an organisation that cares so passionately for the young people in our area and makes such a profound impact on their well-being is an immense privilege. I’ve worked a wide variety of admin jobs through the years to support a fairly chaotic pursuit of creative endeavours (actor, Shakespeare musician (yes, all one title), screenwriter, producer, and most recently historical fiction novelist), and rarely have I found a group of people that so thoroughly embody the very values they endeavour to pass on to others.

They say timing is everything, and I don’t think it is a coincidence that I happen to find myself embedded in a charity that nurtures well-being and resilience right when I need it the most!

I’m excited to be a part of Phase, and I look forward to meeting y’all!
